A message from your outgoing VP Administration, Lakeshore

Hello Everyone!!!

The 2010 elections are upon us, and it is time for a new group of students to become the leaders of the HSF. Throughout the year, I have been given many opportunities to enhance your experience here at Humber through the services that the HSF provides. With the new Free Legal Advice program and the Financial Consulting program, I feel that we are taking the right steps in providing you with these services.

I’ve had the chance to work with so many great people and established relationships that will last a lifetime. Not only are the people great, but the work experience you gain is also amazing. It will be sad to leave, but it is time to pass the torch to another well deserving student.

Now, I will give you my expert advice. To all of the potential candidates – get out there!! Take advantage of the two weeks you have to campaign as it is the best way to get your name known around campus. For future executives – your time in this position will fly by! Reach out and do as much as you can for students (while maintaining that GPA, of course!) during the time you have here.

A message from your outgoing VP Administration, North

Hey Students,

It’s Melissa Mendes here, your HSF Vice President of Administration for the North campus.  As you all know, we are hitting another year of elections.  This means that you will be voting in new candidates for this upcoming year.  I must say that it has been a great year working for the HSF.  My position has given me many opportunities to reach out to students, hear their concerns and listen to their feedback.  As the VP of Administration, not only have I been providing you with information about the services we offer at the HSF, but have helped bring you new ones, including our new on campus Pharmacy. With our Volunteer Program steering in a new direction and many on the way, I hope that I have given you an opportunity to take part within the HSF.

For the new Vice President of Administration, I encourage you to reach out to every student as much as you can and truly understand that the students are our future. HSF’s slogan, We Help. Give. Humber Life. is exactly the motto I lived by this year.  Helping students has been truly gratifying.

Lastly, I would like to say to the potential candidates try your best and love what you do. The HSF is a home and family to all students here at Humber and Guelph-Humber.
