Voting took place from Monday, March 8 to Friday March 12 at various locations across the North, Lakeshore and Orangeville campuses.  Polling stations saw an increase in voting this year, with 4,267 votes making up a total voting percentage of 21.34 per cent.  This was 23 per cent increase over last year’s 16.4 per cent.

A referendum question was also included in the ballot, asking students should the HSF become more entrepreneurial (seeking opportunities to gain more revenue from advertisements, off-campus initiatives, and on-campus events) in order to grow the budget without increasing student fees.  A total of 3483 students responded yes to this question, while 270 voted no and 449 voters chose to abstain.  These results will be analyzed for future consideration.

The HSF would like to thank candidates and especially voters for their participation and for making this year’s election a success.

The Humber Students Federation (HSF) advocates on behalf of 20,000 full-time students.  HSF is committed to providing programs and services that appeal to the entire student body and lobbies the provincial government regarding important student-related issues.  We encourage you to enquire about the many initiatives we are undertaking on your behalf and encourage you to get involved.
