Voting took place from Monday, March 9 to Friday March 13 at various locations across the North, Lakeshore and Orangeville campuses.  Polling stations saw an increase in voting this year, with 2,844 votes making up a total voting percentage of 16.4 per cent.  This was 62 per cent increase over last year’s 10.5 per cent.

A referendum question was also included in the ballot, asking students whether future HSF Executives should be required to have HSF experience of some kind (such as being an Executive, member of the Board of Directors, a part-time staff member, Program Representative or volunteer) as a prerequisite for holding office. A total of 1472 students responded yes to this question, while 814 voted no and 463 voters chose to abstain.  These results will be analyzed for future consideration.

The HSF would like to thank candidates and especially voters for their participation and for making this year’s election a success.

The Humber Students Federation (HSF) advocates on behalf of 18,000 full-time students.  HSF is committed to providing programs and services that appeal to the entire student body and lobbies the provincial government regarding important student-related issues.  We encourage you to enquire about the many initiatives we are undertaking on your behalf and encourage you to get involved.

I just want to say hsf was able to pull more students this time.Which is great….and but I think Humber media wasn’t able to remain neutral …because personally I think they didn’t cover all the candidates and only put the pictures of two candidates on Front page…I won’t say Media was supporting them …but I feel media would have done much better job.

We should remember half of the student who voted, they voted by seeing the pictures
